Rideau 709

Interior Design

Rideau 709 represents the third Renfrew House condo renovated by DPd. In one of Heritage Calgary’s mid-century architectural apartment towers, the condos are subject to architectural guidelines meaning adherence to the existing window configurations, sound transmission ratings, radiator heating system and plumbing and ventilation stacks.

This 1000 sq.ft., two bedroom/one bath unit on the building’s top floor kept the walls of the bedrooms and bathroom in place while opening the kitchen, dining and living areas to the full frontage balcony and downtown city views.

Despite the small footprint, the main living space feels expansive and warm; combining contemporary white with chicory colored alder cabinetry and luxury vinyl plank flooring.  The navy blue backsplash and doors provide a classic touch to the bright living spaces and the rustic barndoor in the main bedroom—a hint of country to remind the young owner of his family’s Saskatchewan home.
